I had the misfortune to require surgery in September that prevented me from driving, but rehabilitation follow up necessitated physical therapy three times per week. The transportation program through the Platte County Senior Fund relieved a significant burden because cab service was provided for all of those therapy appointments at North Kansas City Hospital over a period from October 5, 2007 through November 21, 2007. This program is a strong example of high quality county services for residents and should be widely publicized. All program employees were informative, courteous and efficient; this gives such a good picture of Platte County operations.
Now that I can drive again, I no longer am using the transportation program but I certainly appreciated its availability when my independence was more limited. Thank you for this example of my county taxes providing a direct community service.
I recently had some handiwork done to my house by Handyman Matters, which was contracted through the Platte County Senior Fund. The workers, Don and Dave, did a great job, and really cared about making sure that everything was done quickly, efficiently and correctly. I just can’t thank PCSF enough for all the assistance they have given me in the past few years. What a wonderful program it is, allowing us seniors to remain in our homes longer. Thank you again for all of your help!
