Inclement Weather Policy
Since we live in the Midwest, we can never be certain about the weather. Platte Senior Services, Inc. has established the following procedures for dealing with cancellation of services due to bad weather.
During the winter months, the Platte County Senior Center will follow the lead of the Park Hill School District and will be closed on those days that the School District cancels classes because of bad weather.
In addition to the Park Hill School District closing,when the weather is bad, PLEASE WATCH YOUR TELEVISION ON CHANNEL 9 KMBC OR FOX 4 for information on closings.There will be a message displayed on television such as:
"Platte Senior Services Inc. – No Meals-On-Wheels Delivery"
"Closed MARC Senior Centers – No Meal Delivery" |

“In 2007, I required surgery that prevented me from driving, but rehabilitation follow up necessitated physical therapy three times a week. The Platte County Senior Fund transportation program relieved a significant burden because cab service was provided for therapy at North Kansas City Hospital that lasted well over a month. This program is a strong example of high quality county services for residents. All program employees were informative, courteous and efficient; this gives such a good picture of Platte County operations.”
